While “standardized” or “reference” are rarely associated with the ability to customize, Ignition Commerce’s use of a reference application combined with our innovative architecture actually provides our clients with even greater latitude as it relates to customizations. More specifically, the Empower reference application utilizes an architecture that separates the core business logic from the client-specific elements of a site, which includes creative, content, the product catalog, client-specific integrations, and client-specific functional enhancements. Given the separation, all client customizations are contained within the client-specific layer of Empower, and, as a result, cannot negatively impact the base Empower site performance or stability. As a result, the risk associated with customizations, usually manifested in the potentially disastrous cascading effect typical of Enterprise implementations, has been significantly reduced. When utilizing Empower, retailers are allowed much greater freedom from a functional perspective, whether as part of implementation or a future product roadmap.
