Tom Carter, Director of Project Management

Tom Carter, a veteran ATG project manager, leads all of Ignition Commerce’s project management efforts. Prior to Ignition Commerce, Carter spent 3.5 years at Professional Access Ltd., where he served as both Senior Project Manager and Program Manager Professional Services.

While at Professional Access, Carter’s responsibilities included:

	Managed projects customizing ATG applications and developing new applications for clients. Managed project managers on other projects.
	Duties included sales presentations, requirements gathering and clarification, managing technical design, managing local and offshore implementation and quality assurance teams, writing test plans and test cases, performing quality assurance testing, managing project budgets, and project documentation.
	Projects have included ATG version upgrades, new ATG and .NET B2C and B2B e-commerce site implementations, new ATG publishing implementations, new ATG CRM implementations, and integrations with legacy and new client systems.
	Methodologies included waterfall and agile processes
	Clients included Casual Male, Bell Canada, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters. Office Max, & Autozone

Prior to his tenure at Professional Access, Carter spent 8+ years at Art Technology Group in a number of project management and professional services roles, including the following:

	Target.com: Contract Project Manager Professional Services-Managed project customizing ATG applications for Cinema Red at Target.com in Minneapolis, MN. Duties ranged from managing all client contact to managing internal development team from project kickoff to launch. Projects implemented on ATG, C++, .NET and Java platforms.
	BestBuy.com: Contract Project Manager Professional Services-Managed projects upgrading ATG versions, improving performance, and implementing automated build and deployment processes for Best Buy.com in Minneapolis, MN. Duties ranged from managing all client contact to managing internal development team from writing project descriptions to project launches.
	Sony, Johnson & Johnson, Telstra: Director Asia/Pacific Professional Services-Consulted with clients, recruited engineer/consultants, made sales calls with presales engineers and sales representatives in Australia.
